Sarah Collingwood is the business savvy, socially-minded owner and business manager of Four Winds Vineyard – a micro-winery and vineyard based in the Canberra District. While the 33-acre family vineyard has been around since the late 90s, it wasn’t until Sarah and her husband John joined the team around 11 years ago that the business really kicked off.
In the last decade, Sarah has undoubtedly made her mark, using both her financial and marketing knowledge in innovative ways to grow the business, including a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised $23,000. She has also previously partnered with her neighbours to ensure that the vineyard's additional Shiraz grapes wouldn't go to waste, turning them into wine and selling over $40,000 worth in support of refugees living in Canberra.
Several of Four Winds wine labels have also received international awards, and in 2017, Sarah was named Australian Women in Wine owner/operator of the year!
Some highlights of the Four Winds range include a sparkling riesling, a dark and savoury tempranillo, and a bright and juicy rosé. They also have a unique, floral, riesling gin which was developed in response to losing their crop to smoke taint in the 2020 bushfires.
We hope to visit their cellar door for pizza and a tasting when we can travel again!
